The Absolute of Fire is the Wonderful South. It works with the 3rd chakra which is in your solar plexus and causes you to act. It is associated with your power centre. So how interesting is that! It creates and consumes at the same time and is a Masculine Element and is known to spark passion in the Spirit. Visually as an Artist it is all about the light and if there is one or more sources, the direction the strength and how it hits the subject. Vertical brushstrokes carry the light differently than that of horizontal or diagonal strokes and can change the mood and intensity. Fire East
This is Tom who posed for the East in the Fire Series. I embarrassingly did not know him well but he showed up unselfishly that evening to be a guinea pig not knowing who or what he was going to depict. Tom since, has passed away but I am grateful for him as he posed never complaining as we posed him glasses off, glasses on. I am sure I missed an opportunity of knowing him. In the Four Insights the South depicts the Way of the Hero to try to transcend your limiting beliefs and by letting go of opinions. Fire is also about High Noon, the sense of sight, and the Season of Summer

Fire West
This is John who also came as a request of a friend. John is an Art Teacher at a local High School and I remember him talking of no time to do any Art himself.That seems to me to be a very big sacrifice. Fire represents the astrological signs of determined Aries with the ruler of Mars, the Kingdom of Leo ruled by the Sun and Free Sagittarius that is ruled by Jupiter. Fire carries a completely different meaning with each direction as it consumes the Earth, evaporates Water and warms the Air but with the lack of any of these it could not exist. Interesting huh?

Fire North
This is Paula one of the kindest, most fair and understanding personalities in my memory. She came and asked; I have my make-up with me if you want me to put it on, except she didn’t need any. As in the Way of the Hero part of it’s definition is Beauty. It goes on to say to perceive loveliness and by brining beauty by sincerely smiling beauty will seek and find you. The Elemental of Fire is the Salamander, and it creates Wisps. Fire also is equated with sulfur, the fiery, solar principle of the duad of Sulfur and Mercury. The Firedrake is a mythical Fire breathing dragon, Firewater is for homemade liquor, or just set the world on Fire.

I Love this Element, because it has so many cool aspects. The Absolute of Air is ruled by the East, it is masculine, also it’s color is yellow. I will explain more as you look at each of the four individual Air directions.

Air East
This is David. I first met him rehearsing for a play at a Community Theatre. Air is ruled by the East so he plays the integral part here. The Chinook Winds are the warm, dry wind blowing intermittently down the East side of the Rockies during the Winter and early Swing which causes rapid thawing snow. When the Wind is from the East it carries clarity, vision and purpose. The Instrument representing the Element of Air is of course, the Wind instruments. The Platonic Solid is the octahedron. Air is the power of the Mind, and exists within us as breath, idea’s, also associated with our freedom and New Beginnings.

Air West
This is Russ who fits in well here as he is a musician as the Element of Air deals with sound. Also along side in the position of North is his wife, my daughter. This is the direction of West and that wishes you introspection, and quite possibly letting go of ego desires and attachment according to my oracle cards, with the Wind which is always a sign of change. The Eagle, the Condor and really all winged beings are a part of this Element, The Arch Angel is Raphael and creativity.

Air South
This is Paul representing South Air. I met him at the same Community Theatre Play in a totally different context. He built, staged, instructed, plus and was an all around great guy. When the Wind is from the South it carries, a new sense of trust, begin to discard habits and parts of you that are no longer serving you. The season of Air is Spring, the senses are hearing and is also the bearer of odors and scents. Wind and the force of the Wind is measured by the Beaufort Scale and Anemometer gauges direction and velocity.

Air North
Air was the first group I painted so of course my daughter Brook, (my biggest fan) stepped up and represents, True North in this group. Appropriately placed the Air Element represents birth through early childhood and the rising Sun, a dreamless sleep to stillness. The direction of North brings wisdom and strength. Anyone lucky enough to be an Air sign is Aquarius who is original and is ruled by Uranus who is the god of the sky and is the personification of the Heavens, versatile Gemini and personable Libra.

Absolutes of Water – As it pertains to Human Alchemy
The Absolute of Water is Ruled by the West. Other than the 5th Element which is Etheric or Love, Water is the strongest Element and is feminine. It freezes, it boils, it vaporizes, it is also 70% of our body which ironically it is approximately the same as the percentage that covers the Earth. A Clepsydra is an ancient time divine worked with the flow of water.

This is Garrett, Water represents the direction of West which is the position I placed the young people. Garrett was a big asset to this group he was helpful,kind and cold I think. Garrett is very much into the Arts through both theatre, and chorus, He is also an Artist. Water conducts sound and currant, and has powers of communication. It symbolizes cleansing and regeneration,It signifies an evolution from former self to new self, and of course flow.

This is Greg who has lived, and has been in business locally for a very long time. Easily recognizable by all. You can see why I was happy when he accepted the challenge be East, Earth. As you know our planet is the manifestation of this element and is the densest of the Absolutes. This is the direction of East, in the Four Insights it represents, the Seer, trust the Universe is conspiring on your behalf. West Earth
He was known, (by me at least) as Pastor Pete and, to me, was a pure Joy to know. He arrived, character intact to participate in my project. All of these pictures were taken way back in 2012 by a good friend Mark Mess. Living happily, I think in California near his daughter now but I have to say, I do miss him. As a Way of the Seer keep in touch with the Spirit within and create a dream of beauty and grace. This was sweet young Molly who is now in College. I credit Molly who was the first to call me definitively and Artist. I am so grateful she is part of this project and that she plays the part of Earth, North. As the Way of the Seer, North calls you to embark on a sacred journey and to look for opportunities to step into your destiny. Earth, North also represents, midnight, stillness, dreams and the hexahedron. It’s Arch angel is Uriel and is guided by the Hummingbird.
